On Oct. 16, 2012, residents in The southeastern region of KY Had a strange sighting in the sky . What was it and where did it come from?
One of the witnesses ,Pike County resident and Amateur astronomer Allen Epling described it as :
"like two fluorescent bulbs, side by side, parallel, shining very brightly. It would get so bright they would seem to merge, and you could see it very clearly with the naked eye," Epling said. "Then, it would dim down almost invisible ... It wasn't anything I recognized. Definitely not an airplane, and I've never seen a helicopter that looked like that."
Witness said it did not seem to move and seemed to just hover.Epling using a very sophisticated Telescope estimated it had to be at an altitude between 60,000 and 100,000 feet. Authorities from Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee received calls from citizens wondering what it was.It ended up on the news and plenty of photos and video of the object where available. However There was no explanation for the strange object.
After reviewing the footage I personally will say it is most likely of earthly origin. In all honesty the object in the pictures look to me like the largest cellophane bag in the universe. Even so, I love it when great visual evidence is presented along with a UFO story. Remember anything in the air unidentified is considered a UFO until positively identified .It could be a balloon of some sort but what its purpose would be I can only wonder.
One explanation has come forward on the internet that the object may be one of the balloons Google has launched named PROJECT LOON .The balloons supposedly are solar powered and bring wireless access to rural areas.I am not one to give rise to conspiracies but that sounds like an unlikely explanation in this case since Looking at there project website the balloon design looks totally different from what was captured on video Over KY. I don't believe it is Alien but who knows ,In my files I will consider this not yet fully explained and filed under unidentified and certainly Bizarre .
