Forgotten Sex Club Discovered Beneath Building
Louisville recently had a project to Renovate The area of Main Street Buildings 100 block Called ''Whiskey row'' as part of the downtown revitalization project. After the Civil War, West Main Street was booming with Whiskey distilleries and warehouses . By The 1960s the street started into an economic decline and the area became run down and seedy. In Some cases buildings were so far gone they were almost ready to fall in after decades of neglect and water damage .In Stead of tearing them down completely, a thirty million dollar project will retain the historic facades of the buildings that date back to the mid-1800s . In August of 2012 a construction crew was Gutting sections of the interiors of one of the old buildings 119 W. Main St and found something unexpected.
In a dark dank cellar that was littered with thousands of Used Whiskey bottles,trash and fallen debris, a workman checking for any live electrical wiring, found a switch and hit it. Suddenly a secret panel opened up,The men went through the hidden entrance and down a rotten and twisted wooden staircase.Down there they discovered remnants of an underground S&M club,a full two floors below main street .
"This is the weirdest I've ever found," said Greg Harris, the superintendent of the project .
Apparently The Bondage Club was abandoned back in the Mid 1990's and leaking water and debris on the floor suggested the hidden rooms were on the verge of collapse. There was a large painted logo "LATEX," and Murals that were in some cases copies Of Salvador Dali and Francisco Goya on the walls .Torture devices were found as well as Candles ,plastic tarps, Dilapidated mattress and furniture.
