I always come across something interesting when I walk around Lexington. In this case down on 3rd I came across water catchment systems on Some of the houses and businesses.I thought at first they seemed out of place in an urban area ,but then again I am aware Rain barrels can help save 1,300 gallons even if used in conjunction with Municipal utilities.
Water catchment systems are fast becoming a permanent fixtures in a lot of homes lately, whether or not they live in a dry region or not. Part of that is convenience, as it can serve as an alternative source for other utilities, if not a main one for when outages occur. And it would be a shame to waste such a resource, especially with the recent amount of rain. No wonder why you are seeing more of these in the cities now. Thanks for sharing these pics!
